Avon 39 Walk Fundraiser

In honor of Triple Negative Brest Cancer Day, I'm kicking off my fundraising effort for the Avon 39 I will be walking in June.  My Mom's dear friend asked me to join her team and I jumped at the chance. The 39 miles will be split over two days. The dollars raised will put food on the table of a breast cancer patient and her family. They will enable access to mammograms and medicine, fuel research and save lives. If you are able to make a donation - no matter how small - please follow this link to donate to the...

The Fight Continues

This past Saturday, I was lucky enough to be present for the UCCRF Women's Board 50th Grand Auction. The black tie affair was held at the Four Seasons Chicago, it was gorgeous. Since its inception, the Women's Board has raised over 16 million dollars. These funds have been used to support research, enhance lab and hospital facilities, and fund fellowships in Cancer Biology. Its so easy...

This is not my full time job. I am not a website wiz. I don't have a marketing team. I live (in my opinion) in one of the greatest...

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

It's that time of year again...magazines, radio, television and even city skylines are all lit up with pink. Pink ribbons seem to be in every line of sight and the reality of just how many lives this disease effects really starts to sink in.  My Mom was diagnosed in September of 2010. Just a couple weeks into the shock of what that meant for her life and her family, October was definitely an ironic and hard pill to swallow. As if the new diagnosis wasn't always on her mind, there was simply no avoiding it during awareness month.  You may ask,...
